Analysis

In this poem "Love Poem Medley" the poet Rudy Francisco uses these literary devices:
Simile: in one line he compares her smile to the pacific ocean. In another line he compares her eyelashes to violin strings that play symphonies every time she blinked. He also compares true love to a model before she's airbrushed. He does this to just express his feelings for this girl.
Allusion: In this line "I know this sounds strange but every now and then I pray that God somehow turns you back in to one of my ribs just so that I would never have to spend an entire day without you" he is making a reference to Adam and Eve.
Repetition: He repeats the words "I'm not a love poet." I think he does to to show the irony of how his whole poem is about love and how he feels about this girl, yet he isn't a love poet.

Imagery: Rudy uses many vivid words in his poem, and he does this to give the reader an idea of exactly how he feels for this woman,
Summary:   "Love Poem Medley" by Rudy Francisco is a poem about how he isn't a love poet so to speak, but he uses his poetic skills to create a poem on how he feels about a girl. He wrote this poem for the pure reason that it expressed his true feelings for this woman. He does this through metaphors, and funny punchlines that makes the girl fall for him. And in the end, he is not her boyfriend, but she is a musician and he is her favorite song.
